From what aspects can the quality of water-based ink in printing be judged?

Date:2024-04-28

The quality of water-based ink can be judged from what aspects

1. Viscosity:
Viscosity is a very important control index in the application of water-based ink, and it is a property that affects fluid flow. Because the viscosity directly affects the transfer of ink and printing quality, it is very important to control the viscosity of ink. In the printing process, the viscosity of water-based ink is too low, which will cause the color to become lighter, the dot to expand, and the ink transfer is not uniform. If the viscosity is too high, the transfer performance of the ink is poor, and the problems such as dirty plate and paste plate are easy to appear.

2. Drying speed:
The drying performance of the ink refers to the time it takes for the ink to dry after being transferred to the substrate, which is also one of the important indicators to measure the quality and performance of the ink. Especially for ink painting, drying performance is a very important quality index, the drying performance of ink painting mainly depends on the resin release performance, drying temperature, hot air temperature, air volume and humidity.

The better ink is able to dry slowly on the plate, but can be quickly dried after being transferred to the substrate by hot air. If it dries too fast on the board, it will cause dot blockage, resulting in the loss of printed text, if the drying speed of the ink is too slow, it will be dragged on the guide roller, and in the case of multi-color overprinting, it will cause the back sticky dirty.
